In modern industrial production, modified polyethylene resin is widely used in the manufacture of various products due to its excellent physical properties and chemical stability. its specific chemical structure and physical characteristics necessitate strict storage conditions. This article explores the storage requirements for modified polyethylene resin to ensure its preservation in a safe and appropriate environment, maintaining its performance integrity.

Temperature Control Temperature is a critical factor in storing modified polyethylene resin. Extreme temperatures, either high or low, can degrade the resin’s properties. The optimal storage temperature range is between 20°C and 25°C, within which the resin’s flow properties, mechanical strength, and chemical stability are best preserved.

Humidity Management High humidity can cause modified polyethylene resin to absorb moisture, leading to softening, bubbling, and compromised product quality. Storage environments must remain dry, with relative humidity controlled below 60%. For specific resins like high-density polyethylene (HDPE), humidity should be maintained below 40% to prevent moisture-induced performance declines.

Light Exposure Prolonged exposure to sunlight accelerates resin degradation, discoloration (yellowing), and potential formation of toxic byproducts like phosgene. Storage areas should avoid direct sunlight, using shaded facilities or cool, dark locations. Environmental Cleanliness Store the resin in a clean, well-ventilated area. Dust and pollutants can adhere to the resin, affecting its appearance and performance. Regular cleaning of storage spaces helps extend the resin’s shelf life.

Storing modified polyethylene resin requires meticulous control of temperature, humidity, light, chemical exposure, and handling practices. Adhering to these guidelines ensures stable resin performance, meeting industrial demands. Enterprises should establish robust storage protocols, conduct regular inspections, and prioritize safety to maximize the efficient use of modified polyethylene resin.
